Trapeze I - Beginner/intermediate level Trapeze- 50 mins (instructor approval needed to attend)

Single point Trapeze, or dance trapeze, a sister to the flying trapeze, is a popular aerial apparatus known for its never-ending ability to amaze. This single steel or aluminum horizontal bar is suspended by two ropes at a single hang point, giving the aerialist the opportunity to work on both the horizontal bar and the vertical ropes! Hung from a swivel, it also allows for the aerialist to explore spinning movements which lend nicely to the "dancey" aspect of creative exploration within aerial arts.

Both beginner and advanced beginner students will start with dynamic floor warm-ups and conditioning to help increase strength, flexibility, control, and body awareness in the air. Then, students will learn techniques to help them condition on the apparatus and eventually move into skills and pathways. Level 1 students will learn proper techniques in mounting, hanging, inverting, rolling, tucking, piking, straddling and eventually take those skills into spinning. All levels of students will learn skills statically and dynamically. Advanced beginner students will continue to build on their aerial vocabulary. It is advisable for all trapeze students to first take classes in silks and/or lyra prior to attending. Please contact Sanctuary CIimbing & Fitness for placement in this class.

This class is capped at five students with prior approval from the instructor. For adults 18+  and ages 13-17 with permission of the instructor.
